About How’s the Job
How’s the Job is a free web app for UK tradespeople. You add a job, post photos and short updates from your phone as the work goes on, and text your customer one link. They open it in their phone’s browser and see the job’s progress — no app to install, no account to make.
Why it exists
Every trade knows the text that arrives mid-job: “any update?” Answering it means stopping work, finding the phone and explaining something the customer can’t see. The customer isn’t being difficult — they just have no other way to know. How’s the Job gives them one, and gives you the afternoon back.
It is deliberately small. It does not do quotes, invoices or scheduling; there are good tools for those. It does one thing — show your customer how the job is going — and tries to make that take seconds on a phone, one-handed, outdoors.
Who makes it
How’s the Job is built and run by Mather Software Ltd, a software company in the UK. Mather Software Ltd is responsible for this site and the data it holds — see the privacy policy for what that is and how it is used, and the terms for the rules of using it.
