How’s the Job

Removals customer updates Moving day, without twenty calls asking where the van is.

On moving day your customer has keys to collect, children to move and no idea whether their furniture has left the old house. One link answers the question they keep ringing about. It shows the stage you’re at in removals words — Booked, In transit, Delivered — with photos of their things loaded and a line when you’re held up on the motorway.

A typical job for removals crews, one update at a time

What your customer reads on their link as the work goes on, oldest first. Each line is a photo or a sentence posted from your phone.

  1. Moving day, 7:30am

Crew on the way, with you for 8. Kettle on if you’ve still got one unpacked.

  2. Moving day, 10am

Wardrobes wrapped and the kitchen is boxed. Loading the van now.

  3. Moving day, 12:30pm

Loaded up and on the road. Piano strapped in at the back.

  4. Moving day, 2pm

At the new house. Waiting on the keys to be released before we can start.

  5. Moving day, 5pm

Everything in and the beds are built. Boxes are in the rooms you marked.

Is this a live GPS tracker?

No, and that is deliberate. It shows the stage you set and the updates you post, not a dot on a map. Your customer knows the van is in transit, and when to expect you if you post a time, and your crew’s every stop isn’t on someone else’s phone.

Why photograph the load?

A photo of the wardrobe wrapped and the piano strapped in, posted as you load, shows the customer their things were handled with care before anything arrives. If something is damaged, a photo of how it left the house is worth more to both of you than anyone’s memory of the day.

Can the whole family follow it?

Yes. The link opens in any phone browser with no app and no login, so your customer can forward it to a partner at the new house or a parent waiting to help unload. Everyone reads the same page, and it updates by itself when you post.

Can I post the crew’s arrival time?

Yes, as an update: “Crew with you for 8” in the morning, and a new line if you’re held up. It is a time you type, not a live estimate, so it is only as current as your last post — but it is the time your customer actually wants, from the person who knows it, without anyone ringing the office.

What if we’re stuck waiting for the keys?

Post it. A line saying the van is outside the new house and waiting for the keys to be released tells your customer where the hold-up is, and that their things are safe in the van. When the keys come through, move the job along and they see it the next time they look.

What does it cost?

Nothing. How’s the Job is free to use for removals crews, with no card needed to sign up, and always free for your customer, who opens the link in their phone’s browser with no app and no account. It does one thing — show your customer how the job is going — so it sits alongside whatever you use for quotes and invoices. How it compares.
