Plumbing customer updates Job updates for plumbers, without the phone going all day.
A bathroom refit runs over a week. The customer is at work, the pipework is behind a wall, and every afternoon they text to ask how it’s going. Send them one link on day one and they can watch it themselves: what’s been done, what it looks like under the floor, and when you’ll be back.
Free to use. Nothing for your customer to install.

What your customer reads on their link as the work goes on, oldest first. Each line is a photo or a sentence posted from your phone.
Day 1, 8am
Here and starting. Water’s off upstairs until about 4 while the old suite comes out.
Day 1, 3pm
Old bath and tiles out. The waste under the floor has been weeping for a while — see the photo of the joist.
Day 2, 11am
New waste run in and tested. Boards going back down before lunch.
Day 3, 4pm
Bath and basin in, taps connected. Tiler starts tomorrow morning.
Day 5, 2pm
Shower tested and the silicone’s done. Leave it a day before you use it.
What do I post on a plumbing job?
Whatever you would otherwise explain on the phone. A photo of the old valve before it came out, the new pipe run before the boards go back, a line when a part is late. Your customer sees it in order on one page, and you never have to describe a hidden leak over a crackly line again.
Does it help when I find something I didn’t quote for?
That is where it earns its keep. A photo of a corroded joint or a failed isolation valve, posted the moment you find it, explains the extra work before the conversation about it. The customer has seen the problem with their own eyes, on their own phone, before you ask them to approve anything.
What stages will my customer see?
Booked, On site and Complete. You tap once to move the job along, and the customer’s page updates by itself — no refresh, no second text. When it reaches Complete they get a finished panel with your photos kept on it, and a button to leave you a review if you’ve added a review link.
Can I use it for emergency call-outs?
Yes, and it is quick enough to. Add the job with a line about the leak, text the customer the link, and tap “On my way” from the ready-made updates. Once you’re there, a photo of the burst pipe or the failed valve and a line about the temporary fix tells them what happened, even if a neighbour let you in while they were at work.
What about landlord or letting-agent jobs?
Text the link to the tenant and they can forward it to the landlord or the agent, and everyone reads the same page. It shows the street and area of the job but never the customer’s name or phone number. A photo of the fault before you touch it is useful to whoever has to approve the bill, and it is still on the page afterwards.
What does it cost?
Nothing. How’s the Job is free to use for plumbers, with no card needed to sign up, and always free for your customer, who opens the link in their phone’s browser with no app and no account. It does one thing — show your customer how the job is going — so it sits alongside whatever you use for quotes and invoices. How it compares.
